founded 1714
This Scriblerus Club is an international literary society founded in London in 1714 by Alexander Pope, Jonathan Swift, John Gay, Thomas Parnell, and John Arbuthnot. Our aims are to support literary exploration and expand the minds of fellows. If you have any question, please send us a message.
Once a year, members of the Scriblerus club convene to delve into literary discourse, fuel each other's writing endeavors, and exchange experiences on their literary odyssey.
Led by Martinus Scriblerus, the club gathers at varying locales annually, with recent retreats held in places like Ross-on-Wye, Dorset, and Oxford.
In 2024, under the guidance of Martinus Scriblerus, we will assemble in Whitby, North Yorkshire, for our upcoming literary retreat.
If you're curious about our next literary gathering, spread the word about Scriblerus and keep an eye out for updates from Martinus Scriblerus. Thank you for your interest.
The Scriblerus International Literary Society first met in London in 1714. If you are interested in joining our society, please contact us.
